The wrist watch for men Selection Guide

For most new watch enthusiasts the question is often asked, “What size watch will fit me? Or will this watch fit me?” An important factor to consider when choosing a watch is the ratio of the watch to your wrist. The best way to determine if the watch is proportional to your wrist and hand is to try on the watch, which is also moderately recommended.

Measure the size of the watch

Measure the size of your hand when choosing a watch, then don’t rely on guessing, rely on feeling, measuring is the best option.

Method 1:

Use the formula to calculate the right watch size

Measured wrist size ÷ watch case length = case index. The case index that works best for you ranges from 4 to 5; less than 4 makes the watch too big, more than 5 makes it too small. For example, if your wrist size is 160mm, a watch size around 40mm would be best for you.

Method 2:

Straight line method 1 to measure the width of the wrist

First, prepare a ruler. With your wrist straight, gently place the ruler in a position perpendicular to your wrist.

The width of the wrist is determined by the scale interval on the ruler. See the diagram for the corresponding options.for the corresponding selection.

Formal watches: like a suit, choose one that fits well, or one that is a little on the small side.

Fashion watches: Bigger watches are more fashionable.

Sports watches: buy big and don’t regret it

There are three main principles for selecting the size of men’s watch dials:

The Serving Dish Principle: Think of the wrist as a plate and the watch as the food. The food should not be overly abundant or too scant. The watch case should closely match the size of the wrist. Regardless of personal style, the watch dial should not extend beyond the edge of the wrist.

The Medium Size Gender Principle: If the dial is smaller than 3/4 of the wrist, it is considered a women’s watch. A medium-sized dial should at least occupy three-quarters of the wrist.

The Visual Deception Principle: Thick watches appear wider, thin watches look smaller, dark colors seem smaller, and light colors appear larger. Men with slender wrists should opt for watch dials between 38-40mm. Bigger is not always better; the size should be chosen based on one’s wrist size and personal lifestyle and work habits. Generally, 38-44mm is suitable for men’s watches and 20-36mm for women’s watches.

In conclusion: No matter how you wear it, the important thing is that you are happy. Watches are meant to serve the wearer; do not buy impulsively just because a brand is hard to get. Moreover, when selecting a watch with the appropriate diameter, consider other factors such as age, gender, body type, wrist size, work nature, and lifestyle habits.
